Registered music therapists (RMTs) are Masters-level trained and accredited through the Australian music therapy association (AMTA). RMTs practise under a professional self-regulating framework with defined standards and ethics.

RMT’s maintain ongoing professional development. Adhere to ethical standards and professional accountability and practise within evidence-based frameworks to promote health, wellbeing, participation and quality of life.

RMTs assess individuals’ health, wellbeing, functional capacity, and therapeutic needs. They then identify strengths and areas for development across physical, cognitive, emotional, social and behavioural domains.
